Tony is the third generation of Glentons to practice in Newcastle. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1965. He has very wide experience of the financial and commercial aspects of owner-managed firms across a broad spectrum. He specialises in inheritance tax and estate planning.
He is closely involved in local commerce and was latterly chairman of the board of both the Newcastle Building Society and the Port of Tyne Authority. He is Chairman of the Council of Newcastle Cathedral and acts as Chairman and Trustee of several charitable and conventional trusts.
Tony is the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Northumberland, Chairman of SSAFA Forces Help, Northumberland, and was latterly Honorary Colonel of 101st (Northumbrian) Regiment Royal Artillery (Volunteers). He is a freeman of the City of London and a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants.
